'Ruh-il-Quddus' and 'Laila-tul-Qadr'

“The month of Ramadan (is that month) in which the Quran was revealed as guidance for mankind, clear proofs of right guidance, and criterion (for distinguishing right and wrong). So whoever of you witnesses this month, let him fast it.” (2: 186)

The Quran is the living miracle revealed to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and is the perfect Word of Allah (twa). It explains to us where we come from and where we are going to, and leads us to the path of eternal bliss, that is, paradise, but it also warns us at the same time of hell and all paths which culminate to hell. It is a means of education, inspiration, physical, mental and spiritual healing, yet the sad reality is that as we continue to preserve the text, we have lost the meaning and injunctions, due to our poor understanding.

There is no means of deliverance in this Ummah, unless we return to the Book of Allah. Indeed the Quran may be guidance for humanity, but not all those who read it are guided, for such guidance has been preserved for selected individuals (the Muttaqeen, that is, the God-fearing and those who guard themselves against evil) who wish to sincerely tread upon this enlightened path of ultimate guidance. Not only does the meaning of the Quran inspire people from all over the world, the words alone bear a magnetic force and have the ability to move people, who may not know a word of Arabic.

The Quran, revealed in the mother tongue of the best of mankind, our beloved prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh), and mother of all tongues has stood the test of time for more than fourteen centuries and verily no other scripture can boast of such an achievement. Rivers change their courses, kingdoms rise and fall, languages become extinct along with its people and new ones are developed, but not the Quran. Of course this preservation is due to the divine promise made in the Quran itself, and verily Allah has enabled this miraculous preservation through the love, devotion and care that generations of Muslim showed towards the Quran but most importantly Allah accomplishes this task through raising from time to time His chosen people, the messengers and reformers of Islam to uphold the sanctity of the Quran and to expound it to others.

Each time the people, especially the Muslim misinterpret it or are ignorant of its real meaning, Allah sends His Elect to explain in a clear ways His commandments so that the people may not deviate from its true meaning. Regardless of the efforts of messengers of Allah, the reformers of Islam, still there are still people, the majority of them who forget the initial explanations of the men of God and they return to reading and understanding the Quran as per their own fantasies.

The month of Ramadan is the month in which the Holy Quran has been sent down to us through our beloved prophet and master, Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh). This month and specific day which represents the Laila-tul-Qadr (Night of Decree) for all the Ummah are indeed most exceptional. During that night, the angels and the Holy Spirit, the leader of all angels of revelations Hazrat Jibreel (as) came to the Chosen prophet of Allah (pbuh) to pass on the divine messages, for Allah had decreed that the time was ripe for the final code of life and perfect religion to be revealed. The Quran therefore represents the blessings of Allah for the entire humankind, and it has been revealed in such a way to enable man, especially the people of intellect (Ulul’al Baab) upon deep reading and analysis to obtain the details and ways to implement the commandments of Allah in their daily lives.

The Quran is not an ordinary book. One cannot just take it, and read it lightly as for any other fiction or science books. The Quran’s identity is directly linked to that of Allah for these are but the perfect words of Allah who wanted to establish His dominion in every heart thirsty of the true source of life, that is, Allah. Through the Quran, Allah has extolled the creation of man and rendered him superior to the angels provided that he does not let him be dominated by the satanic forces. Once this danger is passed, a new day, a new dawn awaits the believer for in the darkness of the night he has let the sun of Allah’s guidance to remove every piece of darkness from his existence. Such a man/woman of intellect is really fortunate who let himself/herself be immersed in the will of Allah.

The month of Ramadan thus provides the believer in quest of Allah to come nearer to Allah and reap His satisfaction just like a gardener or farmer who is elated after an excellent harvest; nay, even more.

The commandments of the Holy Quran need to be respected with every breath of our existence. Therein are all the guidelines we need to reach Allah and obtain His pleasure, but just like a university student, he cannot fully understand his textbook if there is not an able lecturer to guide him to get the whole meaning right.

Likewise, humans need from time to time someone who comes from Allah, and who acts like the lecturers in the spiritual school of life and religion to teach the people how to get access to Allah by implementing in the right way all commands of God.

Allah is indeed very clement towards us, and knows that weak as we are, we are liable to fall in the traps of the Satan and his army, but Allah provides us from time to time, blessed eras, which are in fact an extension of the Night of Decree wherein a believer’s or seeker of truth’s life gets connected to that of a messenger of Allah and he lets himself to bask in the divine light as brought by the Ruh-il-Quddus during this blessed period, and he gets access to Allah through connection and affinity with the messenger of Allah and his prayers and guidance.

Today, or rather this present era is an era of intense ‘Laila-tul-Qadr’.

Darkness is everywhere. Man has sunk deep in immorality and has let go of the Book of Allah (the Quran) and the teachings of all prophets and divine reformers. In the profoundness of this darkness, Allah has manifested His light of truth to take those who are willing to be blessed to come out of this darkness into light.

The new dawn of the Divine Manifestation has thus appeared and felicitations to those who know and come forward to let their whole lives accede this light and blessing, and understand the true meaning of living for the cause of Allah. Verily, for these people there are fierce trials for them, but at the end of the day, these trials act like a fire which burns all their inner darkness and make them physically, morally and spiritually able to see and feel the divine from within themselves and from the Messenger of Allah of their times.

May Allah bless all my dear disciples, members of the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam, who understands the profoundness of the divine message and let the Quran be a part of their lives so much so that they become “a walking Quran”, following the example of the best of mankind and seal of all prophets, the best role model so that united as one people of the Quran, we feel the blessings of the ‘Laila-tul-Qadr’ everyday of our lives. Insha-Allah, Ameen.
